Sami Nikkonen, representing the University of Eastern Finland (UEF), delivered a 15-minute presentation on the HARPOCRATES project during the Musculoskeletal Diseases Research Community Seminar Series. The seminar took place at the UEF Kuopio campus and was accessible via Teams. Sami provided insights into UEF’s contributions to the HARPOCRATES project, specifically focusing on the Datasharing and Analysis Platform for the Sleep Demonstrator.

UEF is a standout multidisciplinary university in Finland. With a dedicated team of 3,200 and a vibrant academic community of around 16,000 students, UEF is all about generating research-based knowledge and sharing it openly for the greater good. Campuses in Joensuu and Kuopio play a vital role in fostering internationally recognized scientific research and providing education in natural sciences and forest sciences.

The Faculty of Science and Forestry, operating in both Kuopio and Joensuu, is a center of innovation and academic excellence. Focused on modern, international, and multidisciplinary environments, the faculty serves about 4,400 Bachelor’s and Master’s degree students, along with around 460 postgraduate students. A dedicated team of 630 staff members ensures the faculty’s mission is fulfilled.

The Harpocrates project, a standout in collaborative research, is proud to have UEF as a key partner. UEF’s significant role lies in providing a strong platform for sharing and analyzing data for the sleep demonstrator within the project.

As we move ahead, the Harpocrates project continues to benefit from UEF’s rich academic resources and commitment to social good. UEF’s dedication to open accessibility and collaboration across disciplines aligns perfectly with the goals of the Harpocrates project, ensuring a brighter future in musculoskeletal research.
