On 24 March 2023, the HARPOCRATES project was presented at the first edition of the Cyber Solution Days, organized by the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO) in Helsinki, Finland. The event brought together cybersecurity providers, public and private sector representatives, and academic partners to explore new solutions for strengthening digital security across Europe.
Nicolae Paladi, representing CanaryBit, introduced the HARPOCRATES project to an audience of industry experts, CISOs, and policymakers. His presentation focused on how HARPOCRATES addresses the challenge of analyzing and sharing sensitive data in cybersecurity without compromising privacy or violating legal constraints.
The talk highlighted the project’s technical foundation—homomorphic encryption, functional encryption, federated learning, and differential privacy—and demonstrated how these methods can be used to securely detect and respond to cyber threats. Particular attention was given to the Threat Intelligence Sharing use case, where HARPOCRATES enables public administrations to collaborate on detecting coordinated cyberattacks without exposing raw system logs or internal data.
The Cyber Solution Days format provided a platform for solution providers to pitch their technologies, followed by structured networking and matchmaking opportunities. The HARPOCRATES presentation contributed to the dialogue on practical, privacy-preserving tools that can be adopted by public authorities and critical infrastructure operators.
The event was part of ECSO’s ongoing efforts to connect innovators with operational needs in the cybersecurity domain. By participating, HARPOCRATES helped raise awareness of cryptographic tools for secure data analysis and showcased how European research can lead to deployable solutions in complex, regulated environments.
