HARPOCRATES Project at ECCC info day in Stockholm

On Friday, 16th June 2023, Nicolae Paladi from CanaryBit (CBIT) participated in the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) Info Day held at Scandinavian XPO Arlanda, Sweden, and also available online for a global audience. This event, organized by the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre in collaboration with the ECCO (European Cybersecurity Community) project, aimed to foster a European cybersecurity community by providing information on crucial European calls and funding opportunities.
The ECCC Info Day played a vital role in advancing the broader mission of strengthening European cybersecurity efforts. Held as a side event to the European Commission’s Digital Assembly, the Info Day offered a unique platform for cybersecurity professionals and enthusiasts to gather, network, and form consortia to successfully respond to EU calls.
At the event, Nicolae Paladi represented the HARPOCRATES project and highlighted CBIT’s valuable contributions, particularly in Work Package 2 (Privacy-Preserving Machine and Federated Learning) and Work Package 3 (Reference Architecture & Platform Integration). These packages focus on critical aspects of the project, such as ensuring privacy protection and seamless integration of components for efficient cybersecurity solutions.
Presentation targeted a diverse audience, including academia, professionals, and decision-makers from the cybersecurity community, providing valuable insights into the HARPOCRATES project and its potential impact on the industry.
CanaryBit’s role in the HARPOCRATES project is essential, as they integrate the technical components implemented by research partners into a coherent platform for secure data sharing and collaboration. Additionally, CanaryBit spearheaded a research task at the intersection of federated learning, homomorphic encryption, and confidential computing, ensuring cutting-edge innovations in the realm of cybersecurity.
Throughout the event, the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre presented various funding opportunities available under the Horizon Europe program and the cybersecurity calls under the Digital Europe Program (DEP). These presentations aimed to raise awareness among the audience about the current and upcoming funding opportunities while actively involving relevant stakeholders and NCCs.
The Info Day successfully showcased project’s innovations and their potential impact on the cybersecurity landscape. Through active participation and engagement with stakeholders, Paladi reinforced the significance of privacy and security in the digital age, paving the way for future collaborations and advancements in the field and bolstered the visibility and prospects of the HARPOCRATES project.
